2004-2007 (V1) Cadillac CTS-V
In 2004 Cadillac took a chance. They had flirted with performance focused Cadillacs before (like the XLR) but looking to claim the performance sedan throne from the German manufacturers GM made a pinnacle decision at the turn of the century. For the 2004 model year Cadillac stuffed a 5.7L V8 LS6 motor from the C5 Z06 into a CTS and the CTS-V was born. Succeeded by the V2, V3 and V4 CTS-V's the performance pedigree of the namesake all started in 2004 with the V1.
